Setting Dental Goals

Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2018 already? Did you make your goals for the year? Often times new goals are centered on weight, relationships or habits. At Buford Family Dental, we’d like to encourage you to set some dental goals for 2018 as well.

  1. Maximize your dental benefits- If you have dental benefits, get to know them! Read the details about what they offer you. Dental benefits typically include two annual checkups and cleanings per year. These valuable appointments will not only clear out any problems you may be experiencing, but they also are preventative as well and will help you save money in the future. Additionally, know how much money you have on your flexible spending account and make a plan to use that money in 2018, so you won’t lose it at the end of the year.
  2. Minimize your habits that are harmful to your oral care– There are certain habits that you should consider limiting or stopping that are harmful to your oral care. Smoking is one habit that not only harms your physical health, but it also harms your oral health. Limiting your sugar intake will help your dental health as well. Sugar is harmful because it causes tooth decay. Sugar produces acids and they dissolve and damage your teeth.

Book your dental appointments with Buford Family Dental today. Start your year off right by taking your oral health into consideration and setting goals that will benefit you and your entire family!
